DIY Ottoman Storage

Unless you are one of the few who are lucky enough to have a huge home with an abundance of extra storage space, you are constantly looking for another way to store your stuff. One great way to store extra blankets, books, or toys is an ottoman that doubles as a storage unit. DIY ottomans are not too hard to make and they can be an attractive way to hide your unsightly things.

This adorable ottoman works as a place to store books and knick-knacks, as well as a place for guests to sit on in your home. Surprisingly enough, this ottoman is made of 4 crates adhered together to create a nice storage space. For the entire step by step instructions go to monmakesthings.com.

This adorably rustic crate ottoman is the perfect place to put your feet up when you get home from a long day. Made from an old milk crate, some foam and an old fabric, this ottoman is old and cute. Very Joanna Gaines-esque. For more information go to jenniferdecorates.com.

This is our least expensive DIY ottoman idea. All you need is a plastic milk crate, rope and hot glue for the base. Then  you simply need a piece of plywood, foam, and fabric to finish it off. For instructions on how to make this inexpensive crate, go to hometalk.com.

Artwork for Any Room

I’m a sucker for wall art. Correction: I’m a sucker for quotes as wall art, but I understand that that is not everyone’s cup of tea. So below I have compiled some DIY wall art that you can use to decorate any room in the home!

Stenciled Wall Art

This is pretty self explanatory. Get a canvas and some paint, get a stencil, and work your way from there. This simple technique will give you beautiful art for your entire home!

Quote Wall Art

I can’t be the only one who loves quotations hanging on the wall. I just think there is something nice about having a reminder to remain optimistic hanging on the wall. If you are like me and you’re a sucker for a good quote or two, maybe try the art projects below!
